Goma, located in the North Kivu province of the Democratic Republic of Congo, has long been a region marked by resilience in the face of adversity. For decades, its communities have endured the brutal effects of ongoing conflict—militia violence, displacement, economic collapse, and a fragile education system.

Every time peace begins to take root, new waves of instability uproot families, forcing children out of school and into survival mode.

In the midst of this, Complexe Scolaire Étoile de la Future Génération was born—not as just a school, but as a sanctuary of hope.

Founded by Rev. Vital B. Baseme, who has witnessed the pain and strength of his people firsthand, our school was created to give children a place to learn, heal, and dream again. We opened our doors not just to students, but to survivors—to future doctors, teachers, artists, and leaders.

Today, while Goma continues to face security threats, humanitarian crises, and uncertainty, our classrooms remain a symbol of resistance. We provide education in both formal subjects and life skills, daily meals, psychosocial support, and a safe environment—especially for the displaced and war-affected children.

We are committed to breaking the cycle of fear through education, offering not just lessons, but love, stability, and a vision for a brighter tomorrow.
